Layar is a web service and mobile app that enables editors to embed digital multimedia in printed pages. Snap a photo of a magazine layout, and the page springs to life with video and related links.

People with no or low vision can use the LookTel Money Reader app to identify the denomination of currency. In the US, it’s impossible to differentiate between bills without sight; phones now provide vision for those who don’t have it. When sensors supplement a touchscreen, devices can provide astonishingly good interfaces for people with poor sight or other disabilities.
